Cross-Country Skiing in the Anoka County Park System

The Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department offers cross-country skiing at four different park locations for you to enjoy!

Please call the 24-hour Cross-County Ski Trail Conditions Hotline at 763-767-2827 for the latest trail conditions.

A State of Minnesota cross-country ski trail pass must be in possession by each ski trail user.  Daily ski trail passes cost $5.00 per person and can be purchased at the Bunker Hills Campground building, Chomonix Golf Course clubhouse building, Coon Rapids Dam visitor center building, and Bunker Hills Activity Center building.  Season ski trail passes must be purchased through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.  For more information, please visit the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Web site at: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us

Ski trails are in poor condition with increasing bare spots.   The public should be aware of oak wilt abatement equipment out on skiing trails in Bunker Hills, especially in the old archery area.

Ski Rental Status: Ski rental facilities are closed.

Bunker Hills Regional Park - Ski and Skijouring Course

  • 20 kilometers of ski trails - flat to slightly hilly terrain trail loops.
  • 12 kilometers of skijouring trails - flat to slightly hilly terrain trail loops.
  • Rental skis are available at the Bunker Hills Campground Registration Building, which is located near the intersection of CSAH 14 (Main Street) and Foley Boulevard in the City of Coon Rapids.  The Bunker Hills Campground Registration Building is open Monday through Friday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The facility can be reached at 763-862-4970.
  • The Bunker Hills Activity Center Building, located in the northern portion of the park, is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Stop by, get a snack from the vending machines, and warm up!

Chomonix Golf Course

  • 10 kilometers of ski trails - flat terrain.
  • Rental skis are available at the Chomonix Golf Course clubhouse building, accessed from the intersection of Lake Drive and Aqua Lane in the City of Lino Lakes - then following Aqua Lane southeast to the clubhouse building.
  • The Chomonix Golf Course clubhouse building’s hours of operation are Monday and Tuesday closed, Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park

  • 10 kilometers of ski trails - relatively flat terrain.
  • Rental skis are available at the Coon Rapids Dam visitor center building, accessed from the intersection of Coon Rapids Boulevard and Egret Boulevard in the City of Coon Rapids - then following Egret Boulevard south to the visitor center building.
  • The Coon Rapids Dam Visitor Center building’s hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Monday.
