The Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of recreational activities. There are activities set up for people of all ages and abilities, for every season, and at a variety of locations around Anoka County. These activities get participants outdoors and physically active. They also contribute to mental health by relieving stress and allowing participants to get their mind off of other issues.

The wide variety of programs offered include paddling sports like canoeing and kayaking, biking programs, rock climbing, birding, and fishing during warm weather seasons. In the winter, programs include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and kick sledding. Levels of programs vary from introductory level cross country skiing and canoeing to advanced kayaking classes.
