FEATURED

Sandra Hisakuni
Sandra Hisakuni, a Featured Local Author with Anoka County Library, will be at the library table guiding attendees through a hands-on haiku writing activity. Together, we’ll reflect on the natural world around us and create nature-inspired haiku on raw wood canvases. Sandra is the author of the children’s picture book The Northland Beckons: An Illustrated Haiku Journey, which is also featured in the StoryWalk at Wargo this spring.

CLIMB Theater’s Super Saver and the Small Saves
Super Saver is on his first day of being a super hero, and he can’t WAIT to save the world in a great, big, dramatic way. Meanwhile, in his backyard, Cricket is getting ready for her vio-limb concert, but the Litterbug keeps throwing trash all over her home! Will Cricket be able to get the garden clean in time for the concert and convince the Litterbug to change her habits? And will Super Saver realize that maybe, saving the world isn’t about big flashy saves like defeating aliens or helping time travelers, but instead that making small saves that can have a big impact?

This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Also, funded by the Anoka County Board of Commissioners and State SCORE (Select Committee on Recycling and the Environment) funds.
