Rice Creek West Regional Trail Reconstruction

This project focuses on the reconstruction of the regional trail from the Hwy 65 tunnel to Locke Parkway to ensure the trail meets or exceeds ADA standards. Site analysis including site survey work began in early 2025. A community engagement meeting to discuss conceptual design occurred June 2025 with no concerns for the design or proposed trail alignment. Geotechnical evaluation, and community comment period (though Parks website) will occur starting at the end of January 2026. Final design, permitting, construction documents, and bidding anticipated early 2026 with construction beginning summer/fall 2026.

Banfill-Locke House

The County is currently working with LHB Inc. on the plans and specifications for improvements to the Banfill Historic House. The building’s foundation needs repairing, as well as the siding and roof needs to be replaced. Plans and specifications to be completed (Winter 2025-2026), project bids (February 2026), and construction (Summer 2026).
